Oyster Stew
Oyster Stew is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pint fresh oysters, 1 medium onion, chopped, 1 can evaporated milk, 1 quart fresh milk and 1/2 stick margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Put onion in enough water to cover in large saucepan.
Boil until onions are transparent.
Check oysters for shells then add oysters with liquid to onions and boil; add canned milk and heat slowly; stirring constantly.
Add margarine, salt and pepper.
Add fresh milk and bring almost to a boil.
Remove from heat and serve with saltines, catsup and hot sauce, if desired.
