Oyster Loaf
Oyster Loaf is an easy dinner. Made with 1 loaf white sandwich bread (unsliced), 1/2 lb. butter, 3 doz. small oysters or 2 doz. large ones, sliced lemon and sliced dill pickle, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Cut the crust from the loaf entirely.
Cut a fairly thick slice from the top of the loaf and save it for a lid.
Hollow out the crumbs from the loaf.
Spread it thickly inside with softened butter and toast the loaf until it is an even golden brown inside and out, also the lid.
