Orange Tea Biscuits
Orange Tea Biscuits is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 4 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 3 tbsp. shortening and 3/4 or 1 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Mix in shortening with fingertips.
Add milk to make a soft dough.
Roll out in a 1/4-inch sheet and spread with an orange filling.
Roll like a jelly roll and cut off in 12-inch slices.
Sprinkle with sugar and grated orange rind over the top.
Bake in moderate oven at 350Β° until lightly browned.
Makes 18 small biscuits.
