Orange Pineapple Salad
Orange Pineapple Salad is an moderately easy salad you can prepare in about 1 hour 18 minutes. Made with box acini de pepe 27 (next to macaroni in stores), (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges (or can use 2 cans), (8 oz.) tub cool whip and c. white sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cook macaroni as directed.
Drain pineapple and oranges; keep juices.
In pan, mix sugar, eggs and flour.
Add fruit juices; cook until thickened like pudding.
Add fruits and macaroni to sauce.
Refrigerate overnight.
When ready to serve, add Cool Whip.
Mix well, then add cherries and nuts, if desired and serve.
