Orange Candy Cake
Orange Candy Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, 5 eggs, 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, 2 c. chopped pecans and 1 (4 oz.) can shredded coconut, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Turn oven to 300°.
Beat butter and until it is fluffy.
Add eggs, beating well after addition.
Mix in vanilla.
Measure 3 3/4 cups of sifted and sift with baking mixture and buttermilk alternately to cake batter.
Mix chopped dates, chopped orange candy, chopped nuts and coconut in 1/4 flour.
Mix well. Fold this fruit-nut mixture into the cake batter. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Spoon batter into pan and bake in a slow oven (300°) for 2 1/2 hours.
