Onion Pie
Onion Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 large onions, sliced thin, 2 tbsp. butter, 1 tbsp. cooking oil, 2 strips bacon, diced and dash of salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Saute onions in butter and cooking oil until soft, not brown, about 10 minutes.
Cover.
Add diced bacon and salt.
Simmer 10 minutes.
While onions and bacon are simmering, combine eggs and whipping cream, stirring until thoroughly mixed.
Place in refrigerator until ready to use.
Smooth dinner roll dough over a greased 12 3/4 x 9-inch pan or cookie sheet.
Combine onions and bacon with egg and cream mixture.
Spread mixture evenly over the dough.
Bake at 400Β° for 45 minutes or until golden.
