Onion Pickles
Onion Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 lb. onions, 1/2 c. salt, crushed ice, 5 c. sugar and 5 c. white vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Slice onions.
Layer onions, salt and ice in 3 layers.
Let stand 2 hours.
Squeeze hard to remove ice, salt and water.
Do not wash.
Mix thoroughly sugar, vinegar, and spices.
Bring to a hard boil, then add onions.
Again, bring to a hard boil for 3 minutes.
Pour into hot jars and seal.
Yields 6 pints.
