In large skillet, heat oil and saute onion and celery 3 to 4 minutes.

Add the chicken.

Increase heat and toss with vegetables 1 minute longer.

Add vermouth and allow to boil 1 minute.

Add broth, garlic, thyme, salt and pepper.

Bring to boil; cover. Reduce heat to low and cook 10 minutes.

Add potatoes.

Stir and return to boil.

Cover, reduce heat and simmer another 30 to 35 minutes.
