Old Time Sugar Cookies
Old Time Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. sugar, 2/3 c. butter crisco, 4 eggs, beaten, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 2/3 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Mix first 4 ingredients well.
Stir in buttermilk.
Sift together 2 cups flour, baking powder and baking soda.
Mix dry ingredients with first mixture.
Then add 3 cups of flour, a little at a time, until mixture is very stiff.
Drop spoonfuls onto greased and floured cookie sheet.
Dampen finger and pat out each cookie.
Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Bake at 400Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes about 5 dozen big cookies.
