Old Fashioned Tea Cakes is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, butter or margarine, 1 3/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla and enough flour to make a stiff dough (about 4 c.), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cream together first 4 ingredients.
Add flour gradually until dough is stiff.
Roll out on floured board.
Cut and bake on cookie sheet at 375Β° for 10 minutes.
If you are in a hurry to bake cookies do not roll them out; instead drop on cookie sheet with a spoon and flatten to right thickness, then bake.
