Old Fashioned Dumplings
Old Fashioned Dumplings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 cup chicken broth and 2 tbsp. vegetable oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Add 1/2 cup chicken broth and oil, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough out on a floured surface and form into a ball.
Roll dough 1/16 inch thickness, cut into 5x1 inch strips.
Drop into boiling broth.
Cover and cook 15 minutes until dumplings are tender.
May add 1 or 2 tbsp. butter and stir to thicken.
Add cooked chicken.
