Oatmeal-Molasses Bread
Oatmeal-Molasses Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. oatmeal (not quick oats), 3 3/4 c. boiling water, 3 tbsp. oleo, 1 tbsp. salt and 1 1/8 c. molasses, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Mix oatmeal, boiling water and oleo.
Cool for 1 hour.
Add salt and molasses to cooled oatmeal mixture.
Stir in yeast dissolved in warm water.
Add the flour a few cups at a time. Knead.
Let rise until doubled.
Form 3 loaves.
Let rise about 1/2 way.
Put in cold oven.
Turn heat to 350Β° and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
