Beat butter, shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy.
Sift together flour, salt and soda; add to creamy mixture; blend well.
Stir in coconut, nuts and oats. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and mash down on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° until golden brown.
