Oatmeal Cake
Oatmeal Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. quick oats, 1 1/4 c. boiling water, 1 stick butter (1/2 c.), 1 c. brown sugar and 1 c. white sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Pour water over oats and let stand 20 minutes.
Cream 1 stick butter with sugars (1 cup each brown and white) and mix with oatmeal.
Add well beaten eggs and vanilla.
Sift and add flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Pour into a well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes.
Remove from oven and immediately spread with topping.
Place cake under broiler until topping is bubbly and slightly browned.
