Oatmeal Cake
Oatmeal Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. boiling water, 1 c. quick oatmeal, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. brown sugar and 1 c. white sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Pour the boiling water over the oatmeal and let stand 20 minutes. Cream the shortening, brown sugar, white sugar and eggs. Add oatmeal to this mix.
Sift together the flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda and baking powder.
Add to first mix.
Add the nuts, if desired.
Bake in oblong pan 35 minutes at 350Β°.
Do not cool to put topping on.
