Pour boiling water over quick oats.
Stir and let stand 20 minutes or until completely cold.
Cream brown sugar, white sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and cold oats; mix well.
Add cinnamon, soda and salt.
Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan and bake for 35 minutes at 350Β°.
