Oatmeal Bread
Oatmeal Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1/4 c. lukewarm water, 2 c. boiling water, 1 1/2 c. oatmeal and 2 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Mix yeast in warm water.
Set aside.
To the boiling water, add oatmeal, shortening, brown sugar, molasses and salt and mix. Add cold water.
When mixture is cooled to lukewarm, add yeast mixture.
Mix in flour.
Knead on floured board.
Set to rise in warm place until double in bulk (1 hour).
Punch down; shape into loaves and let rise again.
Bake at 350Β° for about 50 to 60 minutes.
