Oatmeal Apple Cake
Oatmeal Apple Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. oats (uncooked), 1 c. flour, 3/4 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. ground allspice (cinnamon and nutmeg a good substitute), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine and set aside the first 5 ingredients.
Combine and stir well the next 4 ingredients.
Add sugar mixture to dry mixture.
Add apples and nuts.
If batter is much too thick, add a very small amount of water.
Spread batter in a greased and floured 8-inch square dish.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Serve plain, with ice cream, or with cream cheese frosting.
Double recipe for a 9 x 13-inch pan.
