Nutty Cheese Straws is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 c. butter (room temperature), 1 c. plain flour, 1/4 c. toasted hazelnuts, finely chopped and 1 medium egg, beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Preheat oven to 400Β°. Mix together cheese and butter.
Add flour, nuts and 2 tablespoons cold water.
Mix until mixture comes together to make a dough.
Break off walnut size pieces and roll into long thin sausage shapes, about 5-inches long.
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
Brush with egg and bake for a further 6 to 8 minutes, until golden brown.
Serve with soup.
