Nutmeg Cake
Nutmeg Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened, 2 c. white sugar, 4 eggs, 3 c. all-purpose flour and 2 tsp. nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Pour into three greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
Cool in pans on rack 10 minutes.
Turn out of pans onto rack and cool completely.
