Norwegian Lefsa
Norwegian Lefsa is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening or margarine, 4 qt. mashed potatoes, 1/2 c. cream, 1 tbsp. salt and 3 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Blend potatoes and shortening. Allow to cool in refrigerator. With 5 cups of potato mix, blend in cream, salt, sugar and flour. Take a 1/4 portion and roll out on a floured surface.
This dough is very difficult to handle, so work with small amount at a time. Too much flour makes the Lefsa tough.
Cook on a flat plate or pan.
