Never Fail Meringue
Never Fail Meringue is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 tbsp. cornstarch, 2 tbsp. cold water, 1/2 c. boiling water, 6 tbsp. granulated sugar and 3 egg whites, at room temperature, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water; add 1/2 cup boiling water and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is clear and thickens.
Remove from heat and allow mixture to cool.
With electric mixer at high, beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Set mixer on low speed and add 6 tablespoons sugar gradually.
Add salt and vanilla if desired.
Add cooled cornstarch mixture. Gradually return mixer to high speed and beat well.
Spread on pie filling.
Bake at 350Β° for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
