Mustard Ring

Mustard Ring is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 envelope knox gelatin, 1 tbsp. cold water, 1/3 c. boiling water, 3/4 c. sugar and 1/3 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Soak the gelatin in 1 tablespoon cold water in top of a double boiler.

Dissolve in boiling water.

Mix sugar, salt and mustard together to remove lumps in mustard. Add vinegar.

Add to this mixture the beaten egg, then mix with gelatin and water. Cook in double boiler until thick (about like boiled custard). Remove from fire. Cool. When cool, but not set, fold in whipping cream.

Put in ring mold and chill.

Can put cole slaw in center, if desired.

Serves 12.
