Monkey Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1 c. warm water (add tsp. sugar), 1 c. melted crisco, 2 beaten eggs, 6 c. flour and 1 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Place in bowl and cool shortening, boiling water, salt and sugar. Add yeast and beaten eggs. Add flour gradually.

Cover and let rise until double. Knead and roll into small balls; dip balls in melted margarine. Place in angel food cake pan and let rise until double. It will take 1 1/2 sticks melted margarine. Bake at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes.

You can bake 1/2 of this one day and the other half can be refrigerated and baked the next day. I don't cut it into pieces until I am ready to bake.
