Molasses Crinkles
Molasses Crinkles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. brown sugar, packed, 1 egg, 1/4 c. molasses and 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Mix shortening, sugar, egg, and molasses thoroughly.
Blend all dry ingredients; mix together.
Chill.
Heat oven to 375Β°. Roll dough in 1 1/4 balls.
Dip tops in sugar.
Place balls, sugar side up, 3 inches apart on greased baking sheet.
Sprinkle each with 2 or 3 drops of water.
Bake 10-12 minutes, or just until set but not hard.
(Do not over bake.)
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
