Molasses Cake
A dark, spiced molasses cake with the warm pull of ginger and cloves. Old-fashioned and best served with a dusting of powdered sugar or a dollop of whipped cream.

Cream shortening, sugar and egg.
Beat in sorghum molasses. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
Pour into 12 x 8-inch pan and bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes.
