Mixed Fruit Compote is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. dried pitted prunes, 1/2 c. dried apricots, 1 c. apple juice, 1 stick cinnamon about 2 inches long and 1 tbsp. grated orange rind, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Combine prunes and apricots in a bowl; set aside.
Heat apple juice with cinnamon stick in small saucepan over medium heat until hot.
Pour over prunes and apricots.
Cover and let stand 8 hours. Remove cinnamon stick and add orange rind and next 5 ingredients; toss gently.
Sprinkle with walnuts.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
