Mints
Mints is an easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. powdered sugar, 1 tbsp. hot water, 2 tsp. corn syrup, 1 egg white and 1/2 tsp. peppermint flavor (or 1/2 tsp. wintergreen and pink food coloring for wintergreen), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
π Recipe adapted from RecipeNLG-Full
Stir about 1/2 sifted powdered (confectioners) sugar into a bowl.
Combine hot water with corn syrup and mix well.
Add egg white and flavoring.
Knead in sufficient sugar to make fondant type nature that won't stick to your hands while you are kneading it.
Will use most of sugar (but depends on egg size used).
Divide fondant and knead in food coloring.
Roll about 1/4-inch thick. Cut into small circles and dust with more powdered sugar.
Press into molds or shape but remove from molds immediately.
Pack in containers, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Close tightly and let ripen about 10 days.
This also makes delicious bonbons.
Use vanilla instead of mint flavors.
