Mile High Biscuits
Mile High Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. plain flour, 2 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. plus 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar and 3/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt, mixing well.
Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Combine egg and milk.
Add to flour mixture, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead 8 to 10 times. Roll dough to 1 inch thickness.
Cut with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 450Β° for 15 minutes until brown.
