Microwave Caramel Corn
Microwave Caramel Corn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 qt. popcorn, popped, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 stick margarine, 1/4 c. dark corn syrup and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt into a 2 quart dish.
Place in microwave and bring to a boil.
Cook on full power for 2 minutes.
Remove from microwave and stir in the baking soda, vanilla and maple flavoring.
Put popcorn in a brown paper bag and pour syrup mixture over the popcorn.
Stir with a wooden spoon.
Tightly close bag and shake well.
Cook in bag on full power for 1 1/2 minutes.
Remove from the microwave and shake. Return to microwave and cook 1 1/2 minutes longer.
Remove and pour over cookie sheet to cool.
