Meringue Torte
Meringue Torte is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 26 minutes. Made with egg whites, room temperature, of salt, . vanilla, large heath bars and . cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Beat until stiff the egg whites, cream of tartar and pinch of salt.
Gradually add sugar and vanilla.
Pour into 2 well-greased cake pans.
Bake at 275Β° for 1/2 hour.
Turn off oven and leave in oven overnight.
Next morning, prepare 2 envelopes Dream Whip according to directions.
Stir in 4 large crushed Heath bars which had been prefrozen for easy crushing.
Ice the meringues as a cake.
Chill in refrigerator for at least 8 hours before serving as cake slices.
