Marble Squares
Marble Squares is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 c. margarine, 3/4 c. water, 1 1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, 2 c. flour and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine margarine, water and chocolate in saucepan; bring to boil.
Remove from heat.
Stir in combined flour, 2 cups sugar, baking soda and salt.
Add 2 eggs and sour cream; mix well.
Pour into greased and floured 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
Combine cream cheese and 1/3 cup sugar, mixing until well blended.
Blend in 1 egg; spoon over chocolate batter.
Cut through batter several times for marble effect. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces.
Bake at 375Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
Yields about 2 dozen.
