Manicotti
Manicotti is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 24 minutes. Made with . italian sweet sausage links, . ground beef, medium onion, chopped, (16 oz.) cans tomato purée and (6 oz.) can tomato paste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cook sausage links in Dutch oven until brown.
Drain in paper toweling and remove fat from pan.
Brown ground beef and onion well; stir in tomato purée, paste, sugar, pepper, 1 teaspoon basil, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 cup water.
Simmer, covered, for 45 minutes. Cut sausage into bite-size pieces and add to mixture.
Cook 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In the meantime, cook manicotti as label directs; drain in colander.
Preheat oven to 375°.
