In large bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda.
Add sliced Crisco, butter, milk, vanilla and eggs.
Beat all at one time for 3 minutes.
Scrape sides and beat 2 more minutes.
Add nuts; stir in well.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour and 5 minutes.
