Macadamia Yokan

Tear kanten into pieces; soak in water for 30 minutes. Cook until dissolved.
Salt; stir until sugar dissolves. Add koshian; cook over medium flame until mixture comes to a boil.
Pour into an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan. Cool.
