Linda's Green Beans
Linda'S Green Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 (9 oz.) pkg. or 2 (1 lb.) pkg. french-cut green beans, 1 stick margarine (1/2 c.), 1 medium onion, chopped, 3 to 5 slices day-old bread, cubed and salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Prepare beans according to instructions and drain.
Be sure to use frozen beans as canned beans will not work.
In large skillet, melt margarine over medium heat and saute onion, 2 to 3 minutes. Add cubed bread and saute until the bread is slightly brown and margarine is absorbed.
You may need to add more margarine as you should not leave any dry cubes.
Gently stir beans into the bread cubes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Transfer to a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.
Top with cheese.
Bake at 350Β° until cheese is melted and casserole is bubbly, approximately 25 minutes.
