Lightning Cake
Lightning Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. sugar, 4 egg yolks, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/3 c. sugar (for topping), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

π¨βπ³ Instructions
Soften butter, then cream.
Add sugar and beat until smooth. Add yolks and beat.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla.
Pour dough into 8-inch layer cake pans.
Beat egg whites and add 1/3 cup sugar.
Spread egg white mixture on top of the dough.
Sprinkle nuts evenly on top of meringue.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes or until slightly brown.
