Licorice Snaps
Licorice Snaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 1 tsp. soda, 1/4 c. powdered milk, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Sift together flour, soda, dry milk, salt, cinnamon and cloves. Cream margarine (or shortening) and sugars.
Add egg.
Blend in dry ingredients and add anise seed and nuts.
Shape into two rolls; wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate at least 4 hours; overnight is fine.
Slice and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375Β° for 9 to 12 minutes.
