Lemon Pie from Scratch
Lemon Pie From Scratch is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. cornstarch, juice of 3 large lemons, 2 egg yolks and 1 pat butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
In saucepan, mix sugar and cornstarch (mix well); set aside. Squeeze lemons; add egg yolks and pat of butter; set aside.
Over medium heat, add boiling water to sugar mixture and stir until butter has melted.
(Should be thick.)
Remove from heat and pour into cooled pie shell.
When pie has cooled, beat egg whites and sugar until peaks form.
Place on pie and brown slightly under broiler.
