Lemon Glazed Bread

Made with 1/3 c. melted butter or vegetable oil, 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar, divided, 2 eggs, 1/4 tsp. almond extract and 1 1/2 c. flour (measure after sifting), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Heat oven to 325Β°.
Grease ovenproof glass baking dish (approximately 6 x 10-inch).
Blend well the butter and 1 cup of the sugar.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Add almond extract. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Add to egg mixture alternately with milk.
Blend.
Fold in lemon peel and nuts.
Turn into prepared baking dish.
Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes.
