Lemon Bread
Lemon Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. crisco, 2 eggs, 1/2 c. milk and 1 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream sugar and Crisco; add unbeaten eggs.
Sift baking powder, flour and salt together.
Add to first mixture, then add milk and rind of lemon.
Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake in 350Β° oven for 1 hour.
Let cool about 5 minutes in pan. Mix 1/4 cup sugar with juice of 1 lemon (about 1/3 cup lemon juice) and pour over the top of bread.
When cool, remove from pan.
