Layered Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 medium head lettuce-shredded (6 cups), 1 c. chopped celery, 1 c. chopped green pepper, 1 1/2 c. chopped or sliced onion and 1 can (16 oz.) small green peas (drained), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Arrange lettuce in bottom of salad bowl, then in layers, add celery, green pepper, onion, peas.

Spread salad dressing or mayonnaise over layer of peas.

Sprinkle sugar, then put cheddar cheese over mayonnaise.

Refrigerate overnight.

Just before serving, sprinkle bacon on top.
