Add water to raisins and boil 5 minutes or until liquid decreases to 1/2 cup.
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Add other ingredients alternately to cream mixture. Drop by 2 heaping teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400Β°.
Makes 40 large cookies.
