Jiffy Orange Nut Bread
Jiffy Orange Nut Bread is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt and 2 tbsp. butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Grease a large loaf pan.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Measure flour, soda, baking powder and salt into sifter.
Set aside.
Melt butter in boiling water in medium-size bowl.
Blend in orange rind and juice, sugar, vanilla and egg.
Sift in dry ingredients.
Add nuts.
Stir until flour is damp.
Will be lumpy.
Pour batter into greased pan.
Place walnut halves on top.
Bake 30 minutes or until wooden toothpick in center comes out clean.
Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.
