Jam Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 c. all-purpose flour, 2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. ginger and 2 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Sift flour, salt and spices together.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Fold in the jam and pour into three 9-inch round pans that have been greased and lined with wax paper.
Bake for 40 minutes in 325Β° oven.
Ice with caramel icing.
