In large mixing bowl cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks, jam and pineapple.
Blend until smooth.
Add alternately dry ingredients and buttermilk.
Fold in nuts, then egg whites.
Bake in 3 greased and floured round cake pans at 350Β° for 45 minutes.
