Jam Cake
Jam Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 sticks butter, 1 c. nuts (black walnuts are best), 3 c. flour, 1 c. jam and 1 tsp. allspice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Cream butter, sugar and egg yolks.
Then add jam.
Take 1 cup flour and coat nuts and raisins.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Sift all other dry ingredients together.
Add to first mixture with flour and buttermilk.
Beat egg whites stiff.
Fold into mixture.
Bake in 3 (9 or 10-inch) pans.
Use your favorite icing.
