Italian Crème Cake
Italian Crème Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 5 eggs, separated, 1 stick oleo, 1/2 c. crisco and 1 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream oleo, sugar and Crisco.
Add beaten egg yolks.
Add soda to buttermilk.
Alternate, adding buttermilk and flour to creamed mixture.
Add pecans, coconut and vanilla.
Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture.
Bake three layers at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overbake!
