Italian Cream Cake
Italian Cream Cake is an impressive Italian dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 10 minutes. Made with margarine, vegetable shortening, sugar, egg yolks and buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cream margarine and shortening; add sugar and beat until mixture is smooth; add egg yolks and beat well.
Combine flour and soda and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Stir in vanilla and coconut and chopped nuts.
Fold in egg whites (beaten).
Pour into 3 greased and floured cake pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, or until tests done.
