Mix corn, milk, Crisco, eggs, corn meal, soda and salt well.
Pour half the batter into a 9 x 9-inch greased pan.
Spread chilies over batter.
Sprinkle 1 cup grated cheese over chilies.
Pour remaining batter on top.
Sprinkle with additional 1 cup grated cheese.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes.
